Yamaha yts 23

I am looking at buying a Yamaha YTS 23, I am a beginner and I don't want to spend too much money. I found one that is a pretty reasonable price and in pretty good shape. The only thing is it has laquer wear along the outer rim of the bell. Will this affect playing at all? Thanks

    Laquer wear has no effect on playing. I have a couple of Mark Vl Selmers and you should see the laquer wear, yet they play better than any horns I've played.
