Hey Y'All........I have heard all the tales about sticking pads and Talc, dollar bills, etc........I've got an E.M Winston Soprano (very nice) except, the g# sticks. I've tried EVERYTHING....I think the biggest problem seems to be that this pad gets "wet" all the time. I actually think it's my "spit-valve"....Do I need to replace the pad? Can I "waterproof" it? Is there anything I can do with this pad? Suggestions would be appreciated.....

    A tip I got from a very old seasoned player is ... Get some OLD ENGLISH .... it's cleaner / oil ....it sells in some stores in the cleaning isle. also says Conditions and Protects on the label. Clean the pad with this using a cotton swab. Hope this helps. Have fun

      By now you probably already have done something. If not, then one of the greates non stick things to do is Molybdenum Disulfide powder.  I have used it in gunsmithing to lube the bore of rifle break in.  It is also used to lessen the friction between bullet and rifling for better marksmanship and so on.  Comes in a powder form.  Mine is from Lyman.  A VERY small amount on the Q-Tip and applied to the pads will make them forever non- stick.  It is part of the formula used to make Teflon coated pans for cooking.
