I think your original idea is the better of the two.  The YAS 62III is a tried-and-true design and Yamaha doesn't want for quality.  Axos is an "intermediate" line introduced by Selmer, priced in the pro-horn range.  Selmer is not as consistent on build quality as Yamaha.  Axos is unlikely to have the same quality standards as Selmer's top-line instruments or Yamaha.
