Soprano Sax Squeaks Middle D and E!

Hi everyone! I'm a highschool student and my school owns 2 Soprano Saxophones. I'm currently just messing around with one of them. This Soprano specifically has detachable goosenecks that allows for straight and bent necks. Unfortunelty, both necks just don't play very well in general. With the straight neck, Middle D is the hardest note to make play. It tends to squeak, as well as Eb and sometimes E. However, with the curved neck, it has all those issues alongside low F tending to kind of vibrate? The sound it produces isnt a consistent Low F, rather its like wavy. This isn't an embochure problem, as I put the mouthpiece on my schools second soprano and it works beautifully. My best guess is a leaky pad, but I'm wondering if there are any other possible issues that could be affecting the sax. Thanks!

Unless you think its you, the school should step up and make sure their instruments play before having a student attempt to make music with it.

Sort of not putting the students on a level playing field.

Sounds familiar, I heard it before.

Its the inept American school system.

It should not be something you have to worry about.

    Good Luck young Student
