Buescher Bass Saxophone

My father-in-law played his whole life but sadly he passed recently. His wife had no idea he had a Bass sax sitting in the closet. I know they can be worth some money and she would like to get an idea of the value. All of the mechanical parts work well the pads don't seem to be too dried out (they are soft to the touch. All of the corks appear to be intact there's no click clacking when any of the keys are pressed. It's a Buescher and he's a serial number of 55823. I will attach pictures.

    Re: Buescher Bass Saxophone

The Bass horns are rare and selling depends on finding someone that is looking for one or someone wanting to hold out till someone comes along.

Yours is an older Buescher example. Probably low end of 5000.

Playing wonderfully maybe in the 10,000. I am not an expert on the big horn. Here are who to ask

    Stohrer Music

    Saxquest

    Tenor Madness

    PM Winds

One or more of them is probably keeping an eye out for one for a customer.

    Good Luck

Matt Stohrer at Stohrer music lives in the mountains of central NC and has his shoppe set up in an airstream. You are in his area, so I would ask him first. That way you dont hafve to consider shipping it.
