Do professional sax player still bite harder in the high register

I'm new here, thank you for accepting me. I've played amateurly for 5 years now, played an hour a day or so. I still bite my mouthpiece, not very hard but kinda have a sore lower lip after an hour of playing. I practice long tones and overtones everyday for 30 minutes or so, still when I go to the higher register i tend to bite a little harder. 

my question: Do professional still bite a bit harder as well, or it's just a super bad habit that I have to get rid now cause I heard it's cheating?
