Plastic mouthpiece problems

At home, i use a great yamaha yts-52 but I have to rent a school sax because i bike to school and obviously cant carry it. At school my band teacher rented me out a student Vito (Leblanc model, maybe?) and he gave me an old pastic mouthpiece. I notice that my school sax feels REALLY stuffy and possibly has a leak, in comparison to my yamaha. On my yamaha i have an otto link rubber 6*. I also squeak in the high register on the Vito (and it's not my playing in general because it doesnt squeak on the yamaha). Suggestions will help on the horn or mouthpiece/embochure. Also suggestions on a metal mouthpiece and a cheap but quality mouthpice to leave at school. Thanks

Why cant you just take your link and reeds with you in your backpack? I did that for ages with school horns

It's either a pad leak or the mouthpiece needs to be replaced or refaced. You should try to play on the same mouthpiece at all times if possible.
