In the mid to late 1920's The Couturier Band Instrument Company - subsidiary of Lyon & Healy - in La Porte, Indiana, manufactured and stenciled out a few of these semi-curved soprano saxophones. You see them with names such as American Professional, American Artist & Lyon & Healy. With the bell turned up like an alto clarinet, it gives the player unique sound perspective when playing. Here you see Chris Potter sampling the wears of this Vaudevillian era soprano saxophone.
