This is a fantastic original silver plate Selmer Super Balanced Action tenor sax, serial number 40623.

The silver plate is nearly perfect with only the slightest hints of wear on the key touches. It has American style engraving and has the matching serial number stamped on the neck. There are NO past dents or damages and NO resolder joints. The instrument has been very well maintained over the last 50 years.

This is a very resonant tenor with a rich sound. The overall sonics are dark but with a powerful sound. It has tremendous projection. There is a bit more resistance to the tone than in a Mark VI giving you a bit more to push back against. This is typical of the really good super balanced action tenors. It is a great saxophone that won't give out on you know matter how much air you push through the horn.
