C.G. CONN "Portrait" Gold Plate "Woman with Pot" (Serial Number: 130646) Back to model

C.G. Conn "New Wonder" burnished GOLD Plate extra elaborate alto saxophone (serial number 130646) - This instrument dates back to 1926.

This alto is a showcase for the Conn engravers of the day. Etched into the portrait scene on this sax is an exotic looking woman carrying a clay pot on her shoulder.

The saxophone is in absolutely stunning condition. The gold plate is nearly 100% intact with only the slightest of wear on the touch pieces, tops of some rods, and the thumb rest.

There are no dents anywhere! The bell rim is perfect. Even the bottom bow and the bell rim appear to have never had any damage!!!

The horn is equipped with flat metal tone boosters. The neck is the Conn tuner style neck. This instrument has rolled tone holes. It has been photographed in its original case

The tone is dark and the horn is extremely responsive. It's a treat to play. You just can't get this tone from a current production instrument.
