SELMER Modele 22 lacquer c-melody (Serial Number: 3174) Back to model

Here's an interesting C-melody saxophone built by Selmer Paris in 1924. This is a later vintage Modele 22 saxophone. By this time the Mantes factory was up an running full time. The saxophone craze in America was well under way and saxophone production from Selmer was really starting to take off.

This particular instrument was originally either silver or gold plate and was relacquered sometime in the past. As part of the restoration, Saxquest had the engraving recut by Sherry Huntley of Artistic Engraving.
