SELMER St. Louis Gold Metal C-Melody lacquer (Serial Number: 941) Back to model

This is the earliest vintage Selmer c-melody that we've come across to date. Its the Selmer Gold Metal model with serial number 941. It was originally a raw brass instrument and later lacquered. It is in beautiful condition. It has had a few minor past repairs but nothing that detracts from the value of this rare instrument. Everything is original. It was fully restored using period style high quality white kid leather pads. The work was done by Aaron Barnard. This is really a nice piece of saxophone history as it must be on of the first Selmer saxophones made and certainly one of the very few early c-melodies produced by Selmer.
