C.G. CONN Silver Plate Art Deco Chu Berry (Serial Number: 236368) Back to model

This is an incredible late Chu Berry tenor saxophone. It dates back to 1929 with a serial number of 236368. It has ornate art deco style engraving, rolled tone holes, and cross hatch G# key, features that characterize the late 20's and early 30's vintage Conn saxophones. It's arguably the best and most desired vintage of the Conn Chu Berry model saxophone.

The instrument has nearly all of the original silver plate still intact with gold wash in the bell. The only real signs of wear are under the thumb rest and on some key guards and key touches. The physical condition is excellent with only a few minor dings having been removed from the bottom bow. The neck is physically perfect.

The sound is fat and has a nice spread to the bottom end. This is an emotive saxophone which allows great flexibility in tone production. The intonation on this horn is excellent!!
