Bari sax ballads

I'm looking for some ballads that were especially written for bari sax. I've found many for alto that I enjoy playing in bari. But If anyone knows any for bari help is appreciated. Thanks.

      I too love the work Ellington's Baritone saxophonist Harry Carney. Pepper Adams did a lot of ballads that are worth checking out.

        then im sure youve heard Prima Bara Doubla (sp, i know) with Carney and Mulligan. great stuff

          Depending on the group and the quality of players, you might be able to do a rendition of "A Smith Named Greg". You can find it off of the old Kenton '76 album. Nice ballad-like intro and ending, and a fast solo section in the middle to show off your improv chops. You can also look at old recordings of Gerry Mulligan. It might not necessarily be all pieces originally for the bari, but he's done some wonderful renditions of pieces that would be worth looking at. Hope I was helpful... Cheers...

          Damnthetorpedoes, Any tune can sound great on Bari! It's up to the player!
