Porgy and Bess???

Anyone heard of it or played it? it has a lot of jazz feel to it and stuff. my director showed it to us the other day and sed that we are playing it. just kinda lookn for tips on how to approach the tune

    All I know about it is that it was the first african-american opera and the music was originally written by george gerswin
