Original case for Selmer BA alto 25***

Hello !

New Scots member here.. woodwind douubler ...all clarinets and saxes.

Just purchased a late '37, early'38 Selmer BA

It's at the spa for a bit of TLC just now, but I wondered what case this vintage sax might have been paired with on its emergence from Selmer Factory. colour? covering material? internal lining?

I know it would be a rectangular box, but would anyone know if these vintage cases can be procured?

I am aware that not many may have survived the 80 years..

Should I have a word with Selmer factory historical bods ?

Any info or leads would be a bonus..

      thankyou HSW.. that just about does it!

      Now to find one, however, only for historical reasons. If I gig with this horn, it goes in my modern light protective case.

        USA horn, Tenor Madness, Saxquest, PM winds, all deal in vintage selmers. Its worth asking them.

        I got my original case to my Mark VI from USA horn and it was absolutely in new condition

        and a circa 1964. It was 200 bucks 10 years ago. I emailed, sent them some money and it arrived by mail.

        Cases can be made stable very easily if you are proficient with wood glue and wood clamps.

        You may find one that is a bit used, but ceaned up (carpet cleaner) will give you the look you want. You can pull he velvet back, glue/clmp the wood. Glue the velvet back after it is stablized.

        Its part of the refurbishing I offer when redoing a horn.
