Mold in sax neck?

Hello! 

Ive just started playing the sax a few days ago. The saxophone is brand new, and Ive barely played it. While cleaning it however I noticed a black smudge in the neck (image attached) Wondering if it is mold? If so, how do I get rid of it?

    That is just a small spot of solder.

    You can use fine sandpaper or steel wool.

    Just leave it alone is what most people would do.

     

    Rubbing alcohol on a piece of cloth run through the neck now and then will keep your horn sanitized.
