Hello! - just joined.

Hi, I am a saxoholic from Johannesburg South Africa. I have a Yamaha Tenor and a Vinci Alto and Ive been playing for around 18 months now. I came accross a silver plated Hawks and Son Alto which dates back to around 1920, it's in dire need of a major overhaul and the seller is wanting ZAR1500 which is about $250US which I thought is a bit much - the neck has come away from its collar and the pads don't even come close to contact with the body! Is it worth restoring this horn or is it an ornament? I guess it would cost at least $500 or more to refurb it. There's not much info about this on the web and I would appreciate any advice.
