Bozza Concertino

I am a senior in high school and this past year I played the Bozza Concertino for a solo competition. I only played the 2, 3 movements, the second movement to me was very lyrical and open for a little ad lib with the rythms. The thrid movement I had problems interpreting what Bozza was doing. I could play the notes, but I felt there was nothing behind them, it just felt empty to me when I played the piece in competition. Could anybody help me with the interpetation of the piece?
