    Maybe you should take it to a reputable repair technician and get an estimate on work that needs to be done.

        The repair tech who looked at it for the band director is the same repair tech used in my local music shop, so I feel he is being fair in his assessment. I am just wondering what a horn like this in playable condition is worth.
