OTTO LINK Florida Slant Signature Tone Edge (1955-1973)

The Florida vintage Slant Signature Tone Edge mouthpieces from Otto Link are some of the most sought after mouthpieces ever made.  These mouthpieces go for very high dollar prices, and are fantastic players.  The consistancy level that Otto Link was able to produce with these mouthpieces is pretty crazy as they generally all play very well.

Charecteristics of Florida Slant Signature Tone Edge:

  • Otto Link stamp at slant
  • Oval chain above Otto Link stamp
  • Facing number to right of the table
  • U.S.A stamp on shank under the table on later models

Perhaps the best thing about the Florida Slant Signature mouthpieces is that they tend to play well on all of the saxophones.  It seems like Otto Link was just about the only company that was able to produce one model of mouthpiece like this.  Whether it's soprano, alto, tenor, or baritone, generally all Florida vintage Slants are sought after, and fetch high dollar prices.  Even the Florida vintage Slant clarinet and bass clarinet mouthpieces go for decent money.

These mouthpieces are also great because you tend to see a lot of larger tip openings around.  It's still rare to find a 10 or a 10*, but they are out there.  These mouthpieces have a great sound, and are the favorite of many professional saxophonists out there, such as:

Chris Potter - Tenor

Joshua Redman - Tenor
